Sarge’s Travels

Sarge’s Travels

Ok, so I’m back in Brazil to teach again, but this time I’m in Campinas. It’s a town about the same size as Porto Alegre, but a lot warmer. It’s about an hour northwest of Sao Paulo. The hotel we’re staying at is ok, but doesn’t have a laundry facility like they did at the Bela Vista. We were so spoiled there.
Another problem here is that the place where we’re teaching, CenPRA, doesn’t have air conditioning currently in the lab rooms. So if you can imagine 25 CPUs plus 25 students plus 85-90 degree temperatures in a room with no air cirulation, you know my pain. They say the A/C units should arrive in a couple weeks, but I’m not holding my breath. In the meantime, I continue to wear as little clothing to work as possible. :-)
